INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY-2017

The Vivekananda Kendra vidyalaya and Vivekananda Kendra, Tezpur cooperatively celebrated 3rd International Yoga Day at the parking place of Tezpur town. Sjt. Spandan Hazarika, MD, Tezpur Gas agency, Assam Lubricants and a well-known social Worker and Advocate Ananta Goswami inaugurated the event. Smt Sangeeta Devi, Headmistress, VKV Tezpur delivered the significance of the day. A Yoga practice session held from 6:00 AM to 7:30 AM. Shri Dimbeswar Gogoi, Kendra Karyakarta, VK Tezpur and Shri Bitu Saikia, Shikshak Karyakarta, VKV Tezpur instructed the Yogasanas. Around 170 participants comprising School Students, Kendra workers and general public practiced yoga.

PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT CAMP-2017

The Vidyalaya organised “VyaktityaVikash Shibir-2017” for the students of class VI from 09/05/2017 to 13/05/2017. It was inaugurated by Prof. Haren Sharma, ex-Vice Principal, Darang College.

The students were divided into three ganas i.e. Seva, Sahas and Tyaga; each group consisting of 10 members. The resource person Prof. Haren Sharma gave light on swami Vivekananda as our ideal. He explained the philosophy of Swamiji. After that students were asked to discuss among them about that topic. Then the students practiced yoga and they were guided by DimbeswarGogoi, Karyakarta of V.K.,Tezpur. They were also taught the ShibirGeet by respected Pradhanacharya Didi. During Krida Yoga, as a part of PDC, participants were taught and encouraged how to conduct SamskarVarga along with some team building games and they were guided by Jyoti Bikash Sharma sir. At last the camp ended with Bhajan Practice and Kendra Prarthana. Total no. of presence was 30.

                    On the second day of PDC, the resource person Dr. R. N. Pal, Retired Scientist, Co-ordinator of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur, and Vibhag Sanchalak of V. K. , Tezpur and Darrang district, interacted with the students and enlightened them how to develop their personality by giving examples of Gautam Buddha, Swamiji and Mahatma Gandhi. In Karyasala Satra, students were engaged in campus cleaning as Shramadana. The students also practiced some Shlokas and they were guided by one of our teacher. Total no. of presence was 28.

     On the third day, resource person Smt Lalita Goswami, retired Principal of Bihaguri Boys Higher Secondary School, illumined the students with the concept of Bharatiya Samskriti and its uniqueness juxtaposing various aspects of Vedas. The meaning and importance of Kendra Prayer was also explained by Jyoti Bikash sir . It was followed by the similar activities in the similar way. Total no. of presence was 30.

      On the fourth day, resource person Dr.Ranendra Mohan Deka, Associate Prof., Dept. of English, Rangapara College, conveyed the students about Swacchata and Swaccha Bharat Abhiyaan and also appealed to become a part of it. He also mentioned about Ma. Eknathji and his contributions.The students took part in Surya Namaskara as a part of Yoga. They practiced some patriotic songs leaded by PradhanacharyaDidi. Total no. of presence was 29.

       On the Samapan Samaroh of the Vyaktitya Vikash Shibir, the invited chief guest R. A. Garodia, Charter Accountant and Patron of VKV, Tezpur, delivered a valuable speech regarding personality development. The students shared their experience and the parents too opined their views regarding the camp. The programme ended with Bhajan practice and Kendra Prayer.

NATIONAL YOUTH DAY

The Vidyalaya organized a Motor bike rally  From School Campus – bahbari-bandarmari- via TMC. Programme was inaugurated  by Sri Dipak Das, I/C Bebejia Police Out Post.  Students dressed as Swamiji, Eknathji, Maa Sarada and  Sri Sri Rama Krishna Paramhangsha. Total number of participants in the rally was 153.

DAAN UTSAVA-2016

On the eve of Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti the Vidyalaya tried to make its children cognizant of the contentment one can achieve by giving and urged them to give the things they don’t use anymore and yet in good condition, viz. clothes, sweaters, shoes, toys, tiffin/pencil boxes etc. The students showed sheer enthusiasm and we collected a reasonable quantity of donatives in two days. We intended to distribute the collection among some of the disadvantaged children of Baahbari Village on 5th October, 2016. We were all set to go for it but we encountered a little difficulty in making the computerized banner for the occasion due to day long power cut in the town on that very day. However the problem was solved easily by the effort of some of our creative teachers and students. They instantly prepared the logo for Daan Utsav and a “manual banner” was all ready.

      Then we went to the village and felt fulfilled to see some 70 children waiting for us in the Anandalaya. First the children were greeted with a lead and follow song and then the distribution of the things started.

    After completing the distribution we all gathered for a group photo. The children were euphoric. We got a precious return against our small effort- their Smiles. The divine smiles.

Inaugural Ceremony

VKV Tezpur inaugurated its Primary & Administrative block on 24/07/2016. To grace the Inaugural Ceremony Hon. guests- Sri R. P. Sharma, MP, Tezpur Constituency, Sri Brindaban Goswami, MLA, Tezpur Constituency, Sri Dipok Kr. Barthakur, Anchal Pramukh, Uttar-Purbanchal, Man. A. Balakrishnanji, Vice-President, VK, Kanyakumari and Ashok Kumar Singh, DIG, Indo Tibetan Border Police Force were present. The guests were welcome by our students with traditional Gayan-bayan. Colourful cultural programs were presented by the students. The program was enhanced with around 600 attendees. The guests primarily put emphasis on all round development of the students and appreciated the way VKV Tezpur is working towards it. They also gave valuable suggestions to the parents and teachers stating that children are like clay and it depends upon us how we can shape them.
