Rabindra
Jayanti
Rabindra Jayanti was observed on 9th of May 2019 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur. It is the day which marks the birth anniversary of the great scholar, novelist and Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore. The programme extended in the form of recitation, speech and songs depicting the immense range of Tagore's conceptions.
Guru
Purnima
The festival of Guru Purnima was observed on 16th July 2019 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur. There were special assemblies dedicated to the teachers, the ‘gurus’ to mark the event replete with speeches and songs. Speeches and slokas were read out from the Gita which highlighted the importance of the Guru in our lives.
Children's Day
Children’s day was observed with full fervour at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur on 14th of November 2019. This day which is also the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India is celebrated as a tribute to him. Teacher's organised a fun-filled day for the students by organizing a special lunch and an extravaganza filled with music, dance and some fun filled activities. Students were elated to see their teachers up on stage performing and celebrating the day with zeal and enthusiasm.
Sadhna
Divas
Sadhna Divas was observed as the birth anniversary of Mananeya Eknathji Ranade on 19th of November 2019 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur. It was observed in the assembly with lighting of lamp by the our Headmistress Smt. Rupanjoli Borthakur in the presence of the teachers and students. A speech was delivered by the principal on the occasion. A tribute was paid to Eknathji by singing a patriotic song and offering “Pushpanjali”. The programme was conducted with discipline and exhuberant enthusiasm.
Lachit
Divas
Lachit Divas was observed on 24th November 2019 to promote the ideals of Lachit Borphukan – the legendary general of Assam's history. The programme extended with speech, recitation and patriotic songs to commemorate the heroism and the victory of the Assamese army at the battle of Saraighat.
Asom
Divas
Asom Divas was observed on 2nd of December to commemorate the advent of the first king Chaolung Sukapha of the Ahom kingdom in Assam. It was observed in the assembly which was extended with speech, recitation and patriotic songs. The programme was conducted with great zeal and enthusiasm.
Gita
Jayanti
Gita Jayanti was observed on 8th of December 2019 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur. The programme began with the significance of the day which was delivered by one of the teacher of the vidyalaya. A Gita chanting competition was held amongst the students of different classes. The students performed with great gusto and were rewarded with prizes.
Samartha
Bharat Parva
Samartha
Bharat Parva was observed on 25th December to 12th January in our school to
commemorate the meditation of Swami Vivekananda on 25th, 26th and 27th of
December 1892 sitting on the rock in Kanyakumari. The programme started with
lightening of Diyas followed by all rituals. Everyday we sang Vande Mataram,
repeated Swadesh Mantra, chanted Bharat Mata Aarati followed by a talk on
greatness of India in various fields. On 12th January we conclude with the
celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti which is also celebrated across India
as "National Youth Day".
