Celebration

Independence Day

Independence Day was celebrated on 15th of August 2019 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur with great pomp and show. First of all our Headmistress Smt. Rupanjoli Borthakur unfurled the tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy of our freedom. A student of class VIII shared his views on the significance of the day. The Headmistress addressed the gathering and delivered a short speech. A number of students sang songs full of Patriotism. The programme concluded up with the vote of thanks after that sweets were distributed among the students.

Raksha Bandhan

Raksha Bandhan was celebrated on 15th of August 2019 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur with full enthusiasm, zeal and gaiety at our School. It is one of the most endearing ways to celebrate the bond between brothers and sisters. Students were familiarized with the customs and rituals followed on Raksha Bandhan.

Janmastami

The festival of Janmashtami was celebrated at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur on 24th August 2019 with great joy and fervour. A student of class VII delivered the significance of the day. Students of different classes donned the roles of Lord Sri Krishna and Gopis amongst many other characters related to Janmashtami. A 'Dahi Handi’ event was also organized to mark the mischievous nature of ‘Bal Gopal’. The delightful shower was a perfect conclusion of the celebration.

Srimanta Shankar Dev Tithi

Srimanta Shankar Dev was celebrated on 1st of September 2019 in the school campus. A small speech was delivered by a student and a teacher, glorifying the Great personality of our Country. A group of secondary students presented Naam kirtan. The programme ended up with the distribution of Traditional MuguMaah Prasad to everyone present in the celebration.

Teachers' Day

Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur celebrated Teachers’ Day with great gusto and gaiety on 5th of September 2019. Students performed a scintillating cultural show to denote their love, respect, acknowledgement and recognition of the hard work put in by the teachers towards their development. The cultural show incorporated poems, songs, dance and drama. The program concluded with the Principal's  address. She extended her heartiest thanks to all the students for the wonderful arrangement and the effort to make the program a successful one. 

Universal Brotherhood Day

Universal Brotherhood Day was celebrated on 11the of  september 2019 with lot of joy and enthusiasm among teachers, students and well-wishers of the Vidyalaya. Events included in a small cultural programme effectively conveyed the importance and significance of the occasion. Headmistress Smt. Rupanjoli Borthakur  greeted the guests and other invitees in her welcome address and highlighted Swami Vivekananda’s remarkable contribution to India’s spirituality.

Gandhi Jayanti and Shastri Jayanti

Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bhadhur  Shastri Jayanti was celebrated on 2nd of October 2019 with great enthusiasm at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur. A speech on Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bhadhur Shastri was delivered by one of the students of the vidyalaya. The Headmistress Smt. Rupanjoli Borthakur in her address spoke the importance of cleanliness in our life and urged everyone to follow the path shown by Gandhiji  and Lal Bhadhur Shastri.

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti

Swami Vivekananda Jayanti, which is marked as National Youth Day was celebrated on 12th of  January 2020 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur with great gusto and glee. The celebration commenced with the garlanding of Swami ji's portrait by a group of dignitaries and students. The Headmistress Smt. Rupanjoli Borthakur gave an inspirational speech.

Smt. Sonia P Deuri, HoD, PSW, Department of Psychiatry,LGB Regional Institute of Mental Health Tezpur addressed the students and threw light on the life of Swami Vivekananda, giving reference of world famous Chicago conference.

       Later, the dignitaries on the dais distributed prizes to the students who excelled in sports week competitions organised in connection with the National Youth Day.

Republic Day / Rani Gaidalu Jayanti

Republic Day was celebrated with pride and patriotism at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur on 26th January 2020. The ceremony began with the hoisting of the tricolour, the pride of Nation by our Headmistress Smt. Rupanjoli Borthakur. It was followed by inspiring speeches on the significance of the occasion.A teacher highlighted the contribution of Rani Gaidinliu who led a revolt against British rule of India. The entire school reverberated with rhythmic beats with beautiful patriotic songs. The programme ended with sweet distribution.

Saraswati Puja

Saraswati Puja was celebrated with great fervour on 30th January, 2020 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Tezpur. All the teachers and students gathered at the school premises to celebrate the day. Like every year, special arrangements were made on the premises, where numerous students offered prayer, chanted Bhajans and celebrated the occasion. At last, the programme was concluded up with the distribution of prasad to everyone who remained present on the occasion.
